About Our Club |
Want to improve your public speaking skills? Or want to improve your leadership skills by practicing?
Come to join us in Toastmasters STCA. We are a group of enthusiastic employees who help each other becoming more competent and comfortable in front of an audience. Presentation skills are crucial to success in the workplace. We use proven and enjoyable methods from Toastmasters International to practice and hone communication and leadership skills so you can realize your potential.
Though we are not part of Shell’s learning activities, like SOU, you will learn a lot by PRACTICING. In a normal meeting, we have “prepared speeches” given by members; we have impromptu speaking session called “table topics” (where you can have some fun by answering questions on the spot); and we have the evaluation session. We believe it is very important for you to receive feedback on how you do. And that is probably the most effective way to improve your skills. How often do you receive quality feedback on your presentations here in Shell?
What is more, we often have education sessions to focus on a specific topic. And we often invite external speakers and even selected senior managers to give speeches. I can tell you for sure that they do not give boring management speeches!
Joining our club is different from joining any other Shell clubs. We want to make sure that you get the most out of your time. The only requirement is your commitment to practice! When you meet our club rule of being in the meetings 3 times as a guest, you will be officially enrolled as a member.

The Toastmasters Mission A statement of shared values

Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.
